Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has been killed in a car crash, according to a report in Spanish newspaper Marca.
The publication claims the Portugal international was in an accident in the Zamora province. He was 28.
He was reportedly travelling with his brother Andre Silva, a 26-year-old Penafiel player who was also killed, when the car came off the road and was engulfed in flames.
A post on X from the Zamora Provincial Council read: “Two young people have died in an accident on the A-52 (Palacios de Sanabria).
“The Rionegro del Puente Fire Station responded.
“The vehicle caught fire and the flames spread to the vegetation.
“They were 28 and 26 years old. RIP.”

Jota got married two weeks ago to long-term partner Rute Cardoso. They have three children.
